Berlin Musical Instrument Museum catalogue of lost instruments
In 2023 the museum published the Verlustkatalog des Berliner Musikinstrumenten-Museums, the catalog of war losses. Available in three volumes edited by former MIM Director Connie Restle, in addition to the detailed documentation of the lost objects and their provenances, also traces the history of the collection from 1888 to 1945. It is with great pleasure we announce that a free digital edition (as well as additional High-Res content) is now available alongside the paper edition (that you can purchase here), as part of the Open-Science policy of our Institute. We wish you an enjoyable reading experience, and we hope that the free online access will support and encourage research as well as the dissemination of knowledge on the history of museum collections.

Tasmanian Cushion Plants
Susan King & Nishka Corry, lute duet
In the bush, just before dawn, Tasmanian Cushion Plants grow close together for protection. As the bush is illuminated by the rising sun, it springs to life with insects flying from flower to flower, swirling in the breeze.
This duet by composer Karlin Greenstreet Love is a celebration of Tasmanian distinctiveness and delight. Photo by Luke Tscharke
